Il developer esc0rtd3w sta attualmente lavorando su di un porting del webkit exploit presente su Playstation 4 capace di eseguire PS4 Playground, l’intenzione sarebbe quello di farlo funzionare sulla console Playstation 3.
Con l’utilizzo dell’exploit PS3 Playground, si potrebbe lavorare su di un metodo che permetterebbe di avere l’accesso in scrittura nel CoreOS, dando così la possibilità di eseguire un downgrade via software, questo almeno secondo Joonie86.
Il primo passo secondo lo sviluppatore bguerville sarebbe quello di ottenere l’esecuzione di un payload con l’accesso alle syscall in userland, ci sono syscall disponibili anche per la gestione dei file (open/read/delete/rename ecc…), mentre il secondo passo vedrebbe l’accesso in lettura e scrittura nel file system e all’interno della dev_flash.
